Jesse Butterfield Venetian Plaster offers other decorative finishes including: wall glazing, stone/marble finishes, and other textured finishes.

Benjamin Moore Paint Company, the premier paint company in the United States, launched their line of Venetian plaster products in 2007. In 2006, Jesse Butterfield was hired to train contractors and homeowners in the art of applying Benjamin Moore's Venetian plaster products.

Jesse Butterfield travelled to Europe in 2007 in order to study the history of venetian plasters and research European architecture, style, and design. There, he found inspiration to create newer, more modern versions of these historic plaster finishes. Jesse Butterfield continuously pushes the envelope in developing the latest in interior architectural works of art.

What is Safra?

Safra is our manufacturing company, which is located in Villa Franca, Italy. Villa Franca is about five miles south of Verona, home of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Safra is an inclusive, family owned company that develops and produces all of the plasters that we use. Safra owns land all over the region where they mine the limestone and the minerals used in the plasters and tints. They also have an on site laboratory, testing facility, and studio. Safra is considered the "Benjamin Moore" or "Sherwin Williams" of the lime plaster industry.

One of the primary benefits that Safra offers to their trained applicators is a wealth of knowledge about plaster. Safra manufactures many different types of wall treatments. We use a particular line called ArteNova.

While in Verona last year, Jesse Butterfield got the chance to consult and train at the Safra factory, located near Verona, Italy. He toured the factory where the lime plasters are made and packaged. Safra's applicators also trained Jesse in the use of their new products and techniques.
